HGV/ LGV Driver Acquisition Programme

Aimed at training Drivers of the Future, the Henderson Group Training Academy have introduced a new programme which will provide the opportunity to gain the training and qualifications needed to become a professional LGV/ HGV Driver.

There is also the potential opportunity to gain employment as a category C+E driver with Northern Ireland’s largest home-grown employer, The Henderson Group.

Those successfully gaining employment with the company have the   opportunity to have the cost of training partially reimbursed*.

Programme content and duration:

Training is delivered in a 4 stage process:

1. Theory, hazard perception & case study training (1 day intensive training with additional support provided)

2. Practical licence acquisition for category C  licence (5 days)

3. Practical licence acquisition for category C+E licence(5 days)

4. Module 4 practical training & testing (2 days)

This all inclusive training programme offers you:

  • Access to the Academy’s experienced training instructors
  • Full licence acquisition following driver theory, hazard perception, case study and module 4 training
  • Your Driver CPC Qualification Card valid for 5 years (JAUPT Accredited Centre (AC00445)


Potential Employment with The Henderson Group:

If you are interested in employment with the company once you have successfully passed your test and gained your licence, you may apply to the company if there are any current vacancies.

Success through the recruitment process could result in  50% of your training costs being reimbursed to you in two instalments, one instalment at 6 months of successful employment and one instalment at 12 months continuous employment.


Training Programme Cost

£1,800 (does not include medical or retest costs) covers all of the above training plus we will take care of all licence application processes with the DVLA.

Single licence schemes are also available at a reduced cost.
