Local community store shows support to Foyle Hospice
Two team members at SPAR Limavady took part in a sponsored silence to raise money for Foyle Hospice.
The two customer advisors, Margaret Cunning and Carol Scott took part in a four hour head-to-head sponsored silence, raising over £950 for the local hospice.
The community focused store has been fundraising for Foyle Hospice for five years, raising over £4,200 across that time through numerous fundraising events, including five members of the team completing a 100 mile walk in aid of the charity in 2023. The team has also fundraised for a number of other local charities including Action Mental Health, Chest Heart & Stroke, Marie Curie and Air Ambulance NI.
Kerry McGaughey, store manager at SPAR Limavady commented, “Several of our team members have had relatives and friends who have received care through Foyle Hospice, so it’s been so important to our team to show our support over the last five years. Our community is at the heart of everything we do and in addition to fundraising for local charities, we also support local schools in our area with sports day kits, as well as holding annual team litter picks around our local area to help keep our community clean. We look forward to continuing to support our local community, charities and initiatives for years to come.”
