SPAR has been delivering convenience retailing in Northern Ireland for 60 years. There are currently over 300 SPAR stores located at the heart of communities across Northern Ireland.

The SPAR chain was founded with one store in the Netherlands in 1932. Now it’s the world’s largest food retail chain. There are over 12,300 stores globally with almost 2,500 of these located in the UK.

SPAR stores in Northern Ireland are packed with all the essentials customers need for everyday living. They’re conveniently located at the heart of local communities and seek to give back to shoppers by supporting local initiatives and fundraising.

The SPAR brand also places a strong emphasis on supporting local suppliers. This is how much of the produce on the shelves in Northern Irish SPAR stores is sourced. These products include dairy, butchery products and baked goods.

With impressive store layouts, increasing product ranges and a strong emphasis on supporting local suppliers and the communities in which the stores resides, SPAR is continually trying to offer the shopper more value, choice and convenience close to home.

SPAR Northern Ireland appointed Marie Curie as it’s chosen charity partner in April 2017. Individual and group fundraising efforts help the palliative care charity to provide care and support to around 2,500 people each year that are living with a terminal illness in Northern Ireland. SPAR Northern Ireland has collectively raised over £300,000 for the charity to date.
