Strathfoyle Women’s Activity Group can now deliver their Pregnancy and Early Years Family Support Programme, thanks to a donation of £1,855 from Henderson Group.

The programme provides vital early intervention and support during this important stage of life, with a wide range of services and activities for the local community, including parents, carers, children, families, older people and individuals living in Strathfoyle, Maydown and surrounding rural areas in Derry/Londonderry.

Gemma Doherty from Strathfoyle Women’s Activity Group commented, “Our services to the local community include support for parents and children, childcare services, positive ageing activities, counselling and community learning opportunities. We aim to provide a welcoming and supportive community hub where people can access help, build confidence, reduce isolation and be connected with the right support when they need it.

“This generous donation from Henderson Group will enable us to provide our Pregnancy and Early Years Family Support Programme, which provides much needed support to families through pregnancy and through the early stages of a child’s life. The support we provide through our programmes is invaluable to women in our local community and we are so grateful to Henderson Group for their support.”

The team at SPAR Strathfoyle recently presented the cheque to Strathfoyle Women’s Activity Group on behalf of Henderson Group. Julie Cooley store manager at SPAR Strathfoyle commented, “Our team are so proud to play our part in supporting the Strathfoyle community. Strathfoyle Women’s Activity Group play a vital role in our community, providing much needed support for many local families and we’re delighted to see Henderson Group supporting the important work they do.”
