Dundonald Community Supermarket reopens creating six new local jobs
A local supermarket has undergone a £410,000 refurb, recruiting six additional full and part time staff.
EUROSPAR Dundonald, which resides on the Upper Newtownards Road, has undergone a huge refurbishment to make way for a wealth of new services and fresh local produce, as well as an all new and improved forecourt.
The supermarket is the latest EUROSPAR store to be upgraded this year by owners Henderson Retail, part of the Henderson Group which owns the SPAR, EUROSPAR and VIVO brands in Northern Ireland.
Area Manager, David Miskimmin from Henderson Retail says the supermarket is now a one-stop-shop for all grocery essentials; “In recent years, we have been adapting our existing store footprints to provide an even better in-store experience for the way our consumers shop. We have listened to the demand and invested heavily in providing outlets which cater to their daily and weekly grocery needs.
“This refurb has been a cost-effective reimagining of the space to provide a community hub for the area, which applies to all our EUROSPAR supermarkets across Northern Ireland. Not only will we be there for shopping essentials, but we’ll sponsor and support local teams and charitable organisations too.”
EUROSPAR’s charity partner is Cancer Fund for Children and the brand’s supermarkets, teams and staff have recently surpassed the £1 million fundraising mark for the organisation.
Janice Gray, store manager of EUROSPAR Dundonald added; “We are really excited to open the supermarket doors and show off our incredible new store to our local shoppers. We now house an abundance of chilled bays so we can carry even more fresh local food, including EUROSPAR own brands such as enjoy local, The Greengrocer’s, The Kitchen and the new, restaurant quality range, The Chef.
“We’re delighted to have taken on six new team members to provide our usual level of outstanding customer service and can’t wait to welcome our shoppers to experience our new supermarket.”Additional services include a chicken bar at the hot food to go dailyDeli counter which houses a range of meals to takeaway and sits alongside Mauds Ice Cream. Shoppers can also pick up fresh bakes every day from the new in store bakery and get their caffeine fix from the Barista Bar and treats counter.
Local butchers H&J Carnduff also continue their residency in the supermarket, providing a range of quality meats, meal solutions and cooking tips throughout the day, while a new Occasions area offers a selection of flowers, cakes and gifts for all events.
