Thousands enter Supermarket competition to win cost of Christmas food shopping
Over 70 families are celebrating after winning the cost of their Christmas food shopping, thanks to a competition from EUROSPAR and VIVOXTRA.
With the average family of four spending around £148 on food and drinks at Christmas*, the community supermarkets decided to give away a £150 voucher in each VIVOXTRA and EUROSPAR in Northern Ireland, covering the cost of festive feasting for local families.
They included Neill O’Higgins from Dromara, who won their voucher from EUROSPAR Dromara.
Brenda Mulligan, Head of Brand Marketing at Henderson Group commented; “We have received thousands of entries from across Northern Ireland, and we’re just delighted to give our winners an early Christmas present. They have so much to choose from to make their Christmas dinner delicious, from our locally sourced Sprouts, carrots and potatoes, to some easy weeknight dinner options for when they want to take the pressure off between Christmas and New Year.
Winner Neill added; “This is the perfect present for us this year, and we can’t wait to get back in to EUROSPAR Dromara and buy all our essentials for Christmas.”
Brenda finished; “We have given away over £10,000 to families to help with the cost of Christmas, ending this year on a bit of a high after such a challenging one. Our Community Supermarkets have been essential hubs for locals throughout the year; we have donated £20,000 to community groups to help them continue operating during the pandemic and at the beginning of the year, we celebrated raising over £1m for EUROSPAR and VIVOXTRA’s charity partner, Cancer Fund for Children.
“We’d like to thank all our frontline retail workers for their dedication this year, and for keeping their shoppers safe. We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year.”
