SPAR University Avenue in Belfast recently celebrated 30 years of serving the local community with a fun day for their shoppers.

The store, which is a huge part of life for students living in Belfast, marked the milestone last month with a fun day and exciting competitions to give back to their loyal shoppers in the community.

A raffle and instore collections for SPAR NI’s charity partner, Marie Curie was held, raising over £300 which will support the charity’s vital services.

Shoppers also took their chance at the SPAR spinner with opportunities to win exciting prizes including tickets to Belsonic, vouchers to spend instore and small spot prizes. The team from Barista Bar joined the celebrations, handing out free coffee and goodie bags, while shoppers were lucky to sample the store’s new Scrocchiarella pizza range and The Kitchen Chicken Curry.

Pat McKillop commented, “It was fantastic to celebrate our anniversary with our shoppers. We love being a hub for the Belfast students and wanted to give back to them for their support over the years. We also chose to fundraise for Marie Curie, such a deserving charity helping so many families across the country. We want to thank our shoppers for their generosity and look forward to many more successful years.”

The store is spending the coming summer months updating their look including upgrading their Kitchen Quarter brand with new items coming to the store’s Deli and Feed Me Now offering in time for the students’ return in September.
