Santa Claus is coming to town thanks to local retailer
With Christmas looking so different for many this year, one local retailer will don the big man’s red suit and take to the Dromara streets to deliver Christmas presents during Santa’s Sleigh Ride later this month.
Irene Hunter, EUROSPAR Dromara Community Rep, has offered local families the chance to be visited by Santa, Mrs Claus and their merry elves on Sunday 19 December, delivering special presents to the neighbours.
All locals need to do is fill out a form in store and if they can, leave a small donation of which every penny will go towards the store’s local charity partner, Cancer Fund for Children.
Irene commented; “We wanted to bring a little bit of festive magic to the area after such a tough year for everyone. Not all the community will get to be with their families this year, and some of the younger folk are probably missing out on getting to visit Santa in a Grotto – so we’re bringing Santa and a small gift to them, all in aid of Cancer Fund for Children.
“Charities have had a really hard time too, with many events and fundraising opportunities cancelled so, we see this as an opportunity to both brighten up our communities and support our charity partner, as Cancer Fund for Children has still been providing care and services during this pandemic.”
Families can visit EUROSPAR Dromara to pick up a form, fill it out with all details needed and leave it back to the store no later than Sunday 13 December.
Santa will be making his rounds on Sunday 19 December, and Irene says that if they need to, they’ll put on another night for Santa’s Sleigh Ride.
“We don’t want anyone to be left out, so we’ll see how it goes and if we need to bring another night of magic to the town, then we’ll happy to do that!”
