ViVO calls for new charity partner in NI after raising £100K for Age NI
Community retailer, ViVO has announced it has raised £100,000 for its charity partner of nearly seven years, Age NI and has opened applications for a new charity partner for the retailer.
Since beginning the partnership over 100 ViVO retailers across Northern Ireland have been fundraising for the charity, which is the leading charity for older people in Northern Ireland.
The money raised has enabled the charity to provide invaluable advice, care and wellbeing support to many older people in need across Northern Ireland. Services such as the Age NI Advice Line, Check in and Chat telephone service, and First Connect which provides one-to-one practical and emotional support, have benefited from ViVO’s generous donations.
Bronagh Luke from ViVO in Northern Ireland said it had been a pleasure to work with the team and raise such vital, worthwhile funds; “Age NI does incredible work in Northern Ireland, helping older people to enjoy later life, while tackling concerns and challenges that face older people from winter fuel payments to loneliness.
“Many older people rely on their local ViVO stores in their communities for accessibility to everyday essentials, and for many, a nice chat with a familiar face. It has been a privilege working with Age NI over the past six years and we wish them every success in the future.”
Rosalind Cole, Fundraising Manager from Age NI added; “ViVO has been a fantastic, engaged and active partner over the years and thanks to the support from generous shoppers and retailers, Age NI has been able to continue our vital work which makes a positive impact for so many older people across Northern Ireland.
This partnership has meant so much to us and we would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to every retailer and shopper that has supported our charity through this partnership over the years. Each of you has made such a difference.”
As the partnership comes to a close, the retailer has announced it will now seek a new charity partner and is calling for suitable charities and organisations to apply.
Bronagh continued; “ViVO is a brand that is part of the Henderson Group, and, alongside our SPAR and EUROSPAR brands, have an impressive record of raising donations for charities, with engaged and passionate retailers that make it happen. In total, we donated over £700,000 to our charity partners in 2023, and our new ViVO charity partner will feel the positive impacts of this success for the long run.”
