Mary and Sean Devine have officially re-opened their Victoria Bridge shop as a SPAR store, bringing unrivalled freshness and choice for the whole community.

The couple, who employ 15 staff locally and are currently recruiting for more, have been working on their offering for over 10 years, and feel their all-new SPAR NI store delivers just what the local community, and those passing through, are looking for.

Mary Devine says all their local favourites are still available, plus some added extras that will not only deliver for now but will help put the tea on the table later. Mary said; “In recent months, what our community has come to expect from their local shop has grown, and we wanted to deliver that for our shoppers and neighbours. Not everybody likes travelling to the large supermarkets anymore and developing our store with SPAR NI has enabled us to sell a huge choice of locally sourced fruit, veg, meat, chicken and ready to eat meals as well as all the services our shoppers have come to expect from us.”

Devine’s SPAR not only offers up bays of fresh food, including the Meat Joint range from local butchers Meat Joint, but the store has also considered the commuter and those travelling on the busy road between Omagh and Strabane.

Mary continued; “Perfectly complementing our scones and sodas that are made fresh in-store every day, we have the all-new, award-winning Barista Bar coffee offering. So, anybody passing from the main road, or even those heading out for a nice stroll, can call in and get a freshly brewed cappuccino or flat white, as well as luxury hot chocolates. We have also continued with our hot and cold food-to-go, giving even more choice to our local shoppers.”

The services available in-store are also essential to the small community, including a Post Office counter, free ATM, bulk fuels, off licence, lottery and PayPoint. The store will also support SPAR’s charity partner, Marie Curie for which SPAR NI has raised over £500,000 since the partnership began in 2017.

Paddy Doody, Sales and Marketing Director at Henderson Group, owners of the SPAR brand in Northern Ireland added; “Stores like Mary and Sean’s bring exactly what is needed for the local community, rural area and commuters. The Devine’s shop is one which offers up a range of fresh, locally sourced ingredients for shoppers to pick up and cook for tonight’s tea, alongside to-go options covering morning coffees right through to lunchtime sandwiches and afternoon pick-me-up treats.

“We wish them every success for the future and look forward to building their local brand and presence alongside our strategy for SPAR.”

Becoming a SPAR store also brings a host of deals to the area, including the current 12 Deals of Christmas initiative which will run right up to the big day. The multi-award-winning campaign, developed by Henderson Group, will see big brand names from Tayto to Shloer drop in price in the coming weeks, helping shoppers stock up on their festive essentials for less.

Paddy continued; “Locals can expect year-round deals at SPAR, however our seasonal campaigns bring value to the shopper and footfall to the retailer when it matters most.”

Devine’s SPAR, Victoria Bridge is open seven days a week, 7am – 9pm.
