EUROSPAR Lagan Valley on Hillsborough Road has undergone a significant transformation from its days of SPAR, and 22 new staff have joined the Henderson Group family.

The Supermarket the first in the UK to open The Bakery – a SPAR International concept that will offer a diverse range of over 50 products with an in-store baker, Nathan O’Doherty. Nathan will be on hand to advise shoppers on breads and offer samples before making purchases.

The all-new community supermarket for the area welcomed local shoppers who are taking advantage of the variety of products and services from Daily Deli and The Carvery hot food services, which includes a chicken bar and ready to go ranges. The supermarket also has a Richardson’s in-store butchery counter, which will offer a popular 3 for £10 range.

Store Manager Paul O’Halloran is immensely proud of the new outlet which is a huge asset to the town and boasts many local products as well as brand new service concepts; “I’m delighted to be the first EUROSPAR in the UK to offer ‘The Bakery’ concept. The in-store baked product range is diverse.  It includes warm products like ham & cheese swirls and Monterey Jack cheese twists and artisan breads like Sourdough Boulots.”

The Bakery will also offer products from local suppliers Country Kitchen and Yellow Door. Shoppers can seek inspiration for their bakery products from the handy recipe cards showing how to use bakery goods for family meals.

Getting to and from the store has also been made easier for shoppers thanks to the addition of 11 new carparking spaces, bringing the total number of spaces to 64 on site.
