Henderson Group launches festive deals for retailers to take the stress out of Christmas
SPAR, EUROSPAR, ViVO, ViVOXTRA and ViVO Essentials retailers in Northern Ireland are taking the stress out of the festive preparations as Henderson’s annual 12 Deals of Christmas initiative returns, with this year’s 12-week campaign bringing seven weeks of enhanced double deals for 2021.
This year, the retailer will celebrate the return of the multi award-winning campaign with a range of giveaways worth £12,000 and will implement a fully integrated marketing campaign to boost footfall and basket spend for its retailers.
Week one kicks off this week with a less than half price deal on Coca Cola, Diet Coke, Coke Zero and Fanta Orange alongside a commercial campaign which continues the creative SPAR adopted for its 60th Anniversary in Northern Ireland. The ads, which will feature across TV, on-demand and digital channels, will accompany a series of ‘destress your festive prep’ content to be fed across all SPAR, EUROSPAR and VIVO branded social media over the next three months, in the run up to Christmas
The group has invested £1.6 million in this year’s 12 Deals of Christmas initiative, which was launched in 2016 as a way for their retailers to increase footfall, basket spend and position their stores as a Christmas shopping destination for consumers.
Sara Murphy, Marketing Manager at Henderson Group commented; “The weeks and months leading up to Christmas provide a unique opportunity within retailing to harness consumer spending. As a result of Covid-19, 2020 saw an increase in savvy shopping behaviour, with basket spend determined by trends in ‘stocking up’ and maximised by promotional and value driven deals. The 12 Deals initiative generated sales of £4.4 million for retailers last year.”
The investment the Group has made in the initiative provides a collective saving for shoppers of up to £45* across festive essentials with all the deals combined.
Sara continued; “Realising the opportunity to maximise sales, we have implemented an enhanced 12-week strategy promoting weekly deals at market leading prices across our network of over 500 stores. We are using media channels which aim to target a wider shopper profile to further reach consumers and will incentivise shoppers in-store with a weekly giveaway of £500 vouchers worth £5,500 over 11 weeks, with a grand finale cash prize for one lucky shopper of £6,500, just in time for Christmas.”
Each deal will be available, while stocks last, for one week in all participating SPAR, EUROSPAR, VIVO, VIVOXTRA and VIVO Essentials stores and supermarkets across Northern Ireland and revealed weekly exclusively on SPAR and EUROSPAR NI’s social media platforms.
