The team at EUROSPAR Donegall Road have been busy fundraising for two local charities; Cancer Fund for Children and the Alzheimer’s Society.

Their fundraising began with their annual Community Coffee Morning, where shoppers were welcomed with tea, coffee and sweat treats, in exchange for a donation to Cancer Fund for Children.

Two staff members went the extra mile as Taylor McClean spent 24 hours streaming on Twitch playing a range of online video games and interactive fun, all without sleep. While Leah McCabe took part in a sponsored silence for a whole shift – a challenge for the store’s resident chatterbox! Altogether the store raised £1,510 for Cancer Fund for Children.

The store also raised £3,116 for the Alzheimer’s Society by holding a long list of exciting fundraising activities. Chris Lawlor, store manager at EUROSPAR Donegall Road, commented, “From sponsored walks to raffles, pub quizzes to bake sales, the team really got stuck in to all the fundraising activities!

“This is our second year in a row raising over £3,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society and I want to thank our whole team for taking part.

“The fundraising was enjoyed by everyone and more importantly, the team raised an amazing amount of money for both charities.”
