Lynch’s lift fundraising total by almost £2,800
Lynch’s Foodstores is celebrating after raising almost £2,800 for Marie Curie during the 2019 Blooming Great Tea Party, recently held in its stores in Dungiven and Claudy.
Blooming Great Tea Party is an annual fundraiser where tea and cake are offered in return for a donation to the terminal illness charity, to help Marie Curie support the local community in their homes through the nursing service.
Orla McFeely, Dungiven store manager said; “Our staff and shoppers once again got behind this year’s Blooming Great Tea Party and have raised a phenomenal amount in just a few hours across our two Co. Derry stores
“Thank you to each member of the team who put together such fantastic events in store and thank you to our loyal local shoppers who always turn up and give back with such generosity. We’re delighted to have raised this total for such an important charity.”
“To raise this amount, we raffled a £50.00 shopping voucher in both our stores and also enjoyed a visit by some popular cartoon characters. We were very kindly gifted some baked goods by local bakeries and were pleased to see some customers bringing their own homemade treats along on the day.”
Conor O’Kane, Senior Partnership Manager at Marie Curie in Northern Ireland added; “The support that Marie Curie has received is just phenomenal. It shows what strong, local SPAR stores can do to help our organisation and the staff from Lynch’s Foodstores have played an important role in this year’s fundraising.
“We really appreciate their commitment to the charity and all money raised will help support terminally ill people and their families in the local community”
