SPAR and EUROSPAR stores join forces in aid of local charity, raising over £14,000
Sixty-three SPAR and EUROSPAR stores across Northern Ireland recently came together to fundraise for Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke (NICHS), raising a total of £14,709 for the charity.
NICHS provides care and support for those living with, or at risk of, chest, heart and stroke conditions, working with patients to improve their mental and physical wellbeing and their quality of life. The Northern Ireland based charity, which began their services in 1946, also carry out extensive research into better treatments and prevention.
In just one month, the stores held a number of fundraising events, from instore ‘spinathons’, bake sales and dress up days to exciting raffles where shoppers had the opportunity to win big prizes.
Regina Cox from NICHS commented, “We want to extend a huge thank you to the stores and their generous shoppers for all their fundraising efforts and continued support. As almost 90% of our work is funded by donations from the public, fundraising like this is essential for us to continue delivering our services and carrying out our lifesaving research.”
Bronagh Luke, Head of Corporate Marketing at Henderson Group, commented, “Fundraising and supporting charities is at the heart of our company, so its great to see so many stores across Northern Ireland coming together and combining their efforts to raise money for such a deserving charity.”
