Describe what a typical day at work looks like for you

A day in work can range from sitting in the office to having site meetings to doing site surveys. My days involve drawing, measuring or talking about the buildings and shop layouts that Hendersons and the independent retailers own.

Who and what are you responsible for?

I’m responsible for the independent store designs, this ranges from retail plans to extensions to the design of new buildings. With over 400 stores in Northern Ireland I’m kept very busy with the number of ongoing projects.

How does your team fit into Henderson Group?

I’m a member of group property and I fit into the design team within the property group. We provide the physical means for sales to take place, shop layouts and designs are all done by us.

What are the best bits about your job?

Best part of my job is the ability to work on many various projects. I like the balance between being out on site and being in the office. Liaising between different parts of the group and different clients can be challenging but also very enjoyable.

Best bits about your company (Henderson Group Property)?

Best part of property is the range of expertise and jobs within it, there is numerous different roles from myself doing the drawings to people out on site to others doing maintenance, all of who add to the company and make it what it is.

What is the best thing about your team?

Best part about the team is there is a lot of experience in the team, as one of the youngest members of the team there is a lot of people to learn from, you are never stuck to get an answer from someone. They are all very friendly and usually give you an answer with a very quick, most of the time with a witty remark and a laugh about something.

What attracted you to Henderson Group?

What attracted me to Henderson Group was the amount of opportunities and the great reputation the company has.

When not working, what can you be found doing?

I’m a social person so you will find me out with friends, or on the golf course or trying my hand at another sport.
